In 1999 the High School Task Force concluded that Jacksonville and the surrounding area was in need of an additional Catholic high school. The studies showed that west Jacksonville was the ideal location. "The Opportunity of a Lifetime" capital campaign was launched and people throughout the Diocese generously contributed funds to build a new high school that would be dedicated to Bishop John J. Snyder.
Bishop John J. Snyder High School opened its doors on August 14, 2002 to seventy-four ninth graders. In 2006, we graduated our first class of seniors. |
